Creating The WayWard Kitchen

A Note From the Kitchen:

My greatest joy has always been gathering people around a table. When you walk through our doors, you are not simply entering a restaurant, you are stepping into our home. It is my promise to welcome you with warmth, to prepare your meal with intention, and to serve you in the most loving way I know how. We believe beautiful food begins with beautiful ingredients. That is why we commit to using the freshest ingredients available and sourcing locally whenever we can. We honor the farmers, growers, and artisans who help bring each dish to life. But more than anything, we promise connection. We want to know you. We want you to feel seen. We want you to sit down, take a breath, and feel as though you are the only guest in the room. Every plate is prepared with care, every detail considered, every moment designed so that you feel welcomed, valued, and loved.

Why Two W’s?

You may notice there are two capital W’s in WayWard. That is not a design choice, it is a love story. In January of 2025, my dearest friend Karry Ward, left this Earth after a courageous battle with cancer. She was light. She was laughter. She was the kind of person who made every table warmer simply by sitting at it. Some of our most cherished memories were made in restaurants, lingering over meals, sharing stories, and dreaming about the future. Food was never just food to us. It was connection. It was comfort. It was home. When I began creating this space, I knew I wanted her name woven into it, not in sorrow, but in legacy. The two capital W’s in WayWard quietly hold her name: Ward. This restaurant is built on peace, on love, and on the belief that a shared meal can heal hearts and bring people together.
